Most everyone was in agreement when we purchased Quartz that allowing open public camping would destroy the character of the place. There will probably never be a time when you can just pull up and throw a bag down in the woods.
However, we did have discussions with the Park about possibly allowing regulated primitive camping at some point in the future. The idea was that (1) there would be a limited number of primitive camping permits available for Quartz, (2) those would be obtained through the Park Office for a small fee, (3) there would be designated and dispersed primitive camping sites a good distance from the parking lot, and (4) there would be no campfires allowed (stoves would be permitted).
We're planning on having furhter discussions with the Park in the near future concerning this issue.
