While it's true there's not much logic to your post, what there is may be discerned from the content thereof.
You say, "talk about changing Quartz," implying that to repair erosion of the ledge caused by climbers would be changing Quartz in a way unacceptable to you. Corbett's extension of it to include trails, etc. would seem to follow reasonably.
Are you aware that Duane Raleigh, FAist of B.S.D. if not B.S. itself (wasn't that from the California dude that shocked everybody present by drilling? I think that's the way I heard it), recommended a "cheater stone" in the recent Texas Mountaineer's newsletter?
I personally think chicken-wire on the crag sounds like a bit of an abomination but lugging a so-called "cheater stone" from the bottom to restore the original character of a classic line sounds pretty purist to me.
And, lay off the pink tri-cams - I just scored one as booty on Lower Scott and don't want it to go into hiding!
