You actually have a valid point. if a critical hold broke off of a 5.8 and made it 5.13 or harder would it mandate gluing the hold back on? What about climbs that used to be aid cliimbs that are now trad climbs several grades easier due to pin scars??? Fill up the scars? I'd say leave the start of BS alone so some 7' tall uberkindren with the next generation of sticky rubber and fingernails of teflon can have a chance at oklahoma's first 5.16. Plus, it'll assures a continued lively discussion on this board to keep the winter doldrums away.
