From Eldo to Tensleep Canyon to the ORG and many other areas I’ve visited that are home to both bold and bolted routes, climber caused impact and erosion has been fixed by stabilizing ledges, trails, and bouldering drop zones. I can understand the incongruity: parking lots, trails, bc crappers, erosion control, etc.-it seems like a lot of “fixed gear.” but I think that these are better ways to cope with increased use than compromising the nature of a route. If it proves feasible and unobtrusive, this seems like a worthy restoration project to me.
: This is ridiculous! You people are actually discussing lugging rocks, gravel, or a bunch of big stones, and wire and all that crap up to Bourbon Street Ledge ? Talk about changing Quartz... "
